Hardwood Flooring Installation in Foxfield, CO

Foxfield is unlike any other community in the southeast Denver metro. Situated between Aurora and Centennial along the Parker Road corridor, this low-density town of large estate properties sits at approximately 5,500 feet elevation where Colorado’s dry continental climate creates some of the most demanding conditions hardwood flooring will ever face. Brothers Flooring has served custom and estate homes across this region for 25 years. As NWFA-certified craftsmen, we bring the technical precision that large, high-value properties require, and we do not subcontract that work to anyone.

Why Foxfield Estate Homes Demand a Different Approach to Hardwood Installation

Large custom homes in Foxfield present installation challenges that standard flooring contractors are simply not equipped to address. Three factors set these projects apart from anything a volume-market operation typically handles.

Wide-Plank Performance in Colorado’s Dry Climate

Wide-plank hardwood is the dominant aesthetic choice in Foxfield’s custom homes, and it is also the most technically unforgiving product in Colorado’s climate. When indoor relative humidity drops during the heating season, wider boards experience significantly more dimensional movement than narrow-strip flooring. Without proper acclimation and species selection, that movement produces visible seasonal gapping across expansive open floor plans. We account for Colorado’s low-humidity conditions before a single board is placed.

Estate-Scale Acclimation and Installation Sequencing

Homes in Foxfield regularly exceed 4,000 square feet of finished floor space. Large material volumes require structured acclimation protocols that account for Colorado’s elevation and ambient humidity, not generic manufacturer timelines written for coastal climates. Installation sequencing across expansive open plans also demands planning that smaller projects never require. We do not move to the next job while yours is in progress. We stay until it is finished.

Hardwood Flooring and Radiant Heat: What Foxfield Homeowners Need to Know

Radiant floor heating is common in Foxfield’s estate homes and it is the single most demanding environment for hardwood stability. Solid hardwood is generally not recommended over radiant systems because the repeated thermal cycling causes excessive expansion and contraction that solid wood cannot tolerate long-term. Engineered hardwood, selected for dimensional stability and installed using a full-spread glue-down method, is the appropriate solution for these systems. Surface temperatures must remain within the product’s rated limits, and that requires coordination between the flooring installation and the home’s heating controls. We have direct experience with this process and do not treat it as an afterthought.

If your Foxfield home has radiant heat and you are planning a new hardwood installation, reach out before purchasing materials. Product selection at this stage determines long-term performance.

Complete Hardwood Flooring Services for Foxfield Homes

Brothers Flooring provides the full range of hardwood services that estate homes require, from new installation to restoration work on floors that have been in place for decades.

Professional Hardwood Flooring Installation

Every installation begins with a subfloor assessment and a Colorado-specific acclimation period that reflects actual site conditions. We evaluate radiant heat systems before installation and sequence large floor plans to maintain consistency across wide open areas. No deposit is required to get started. Payment is due the morning of the final coat.

Hardwood Flooring Refinishing and Restoration

Foxfield’s housing stock includes many custom homes built between the early 1980s and 2010s, and the original hardwood in those homes often has significant life remaining. Our 97% dust-free sanding system allows hardwood flooring refinishing to proceed without emptying the house. Water-based, non-toxic finishes produce no harmful fumes, which means your family does not need to relocate during the process. For south-facing great rooms with large window walls, we recommend UV-protective finish options that slow the altitude-accelerated discoloration that Colorado’s sun exposure causes at elevation.

Species Matching and Phased Renovation Flooring

Large estate homes are frequently renovated in phases across multiple years. Matching existing hardwood species, replicating a stain formula from a prior installation, and achieving visual continuity across rooms completed years apart requires specific expertise. We source matching species, reconstruct stain formulations, and blend new installation areas into existing floors so the result reads as a single cohesive floor throughout the home.

Best Hardwood Species for Foxfield’s Large Custom Homes

White oak and walnut are the dominant choices for high-end Colorado installations in 2026, and both perform well in the dry conditions Foxfield’s climate produces. White oak with natural to warm finishes ages gracefully across decades of ownership and suits the Craftsman-influenced and new traditional architectural styles common in this community. Rift and quartersawn cuts offer superior dimensional stability for wide-plank applications in low-humidity environments. Character-grade walnut provides richness and depth appropriate for large formal spaces. Hickory is worth considering for areas with heavier use given its hardness rating. We advise against species with open, porous grain structures in Colorado’s heating-season conditions, where low humidity amplifies movement.

“Wow- Brothers Flooring did incredible work on our 1920s house with a mid-century addition. We pulled up some terribly installed vinyl, planning to install laminate instead, and were thrilled to discover original hardwood underneath! However, several wood flooring specialty contractors declined to take on the job and encouraged us to start over with all new wood on top of the original planks, mostly due to damage to some of the unusual boards (2" wide by 1/2" thick tongue-in-groove red oak vs. modern 2.25" wide by 3/4" thick boards), some very weird and uneven subfloor from who knows when, and our desire to extend the wood flooring to include the kitchen area, which previously had stick-on tile with crappy vinyl on top. Enter Brothers Flooring, my last hope to keep the original wood: they arrived on-time for the estimate and talked through our options for addressing the complex subfloor situation, damaged portions of unusual boards, and our hope to extend the wood to include the open kitchen area. They were quickly able to special-order the uncommon wood and were clear in communicating the timeline, allowing us to plan around when work would begin. Chad did all of the work on our floors, and I see why he's the go-to guy for such complex jobs! He has been doing this for almost as long as I've been alive, and the experience shows in how he was able to make our uneven subfloor meld with the existing floor, braid in new boards to replace damaged portions, work with the addition, and carefully sand down the thin original wood to give it a beautiful finish. Chad was clear in communicating the plan, gave ample updates on progress, and answered the many questions I had throughout the process. Our house feels so much brighter, warmer, and we are so glad we were able to keep the original hardwood floors! I highly recommend Brothers Flooring for any project you have.”

“Brothers did a fabulous job! Marco was great to work with during the process. He answered all my questions, no matter how many, and kept me informed on the progress, start and finish times every day. My new floor is beautiful and being laced into the existing kitchen/dining and entry hardwoods makes them look like one floor. Every one I worked with from estimate to completion was wonderful. I would recommend Brothers to anyone and can’t wait to show off my new floor to family and friends.”

“We just had Brothers Flooring add hardwood flooring into our home. I highly recommend them. The whole experience from a competitive quote, quality materials, to outstanding workmanship. We are so happy with the outcome. I also don’t think I’ve seen anyone work harder than Anthony did throughout the entire job! Each day he arrived punctually, informed me about the jobs he would be completing that day, and time frames needed for drying etc. Thank you so much!”
