“Wow- Brothers Flooring did incredible work on our 1920s house with a mid-century addition. We pulled up some terribly installed vinyl, planning to install laminate instead, and were thrilled to discover original hardwood underneath! However, several wood flooring specialty contractors declined to take on the job and encouraged us to start over with all new wood on top of the original planks, mostly due to damage to some of the unusual boards (2" wide by 1/2" thick tongue-in-groove red oak vs. modern 2.25" wide by 3/4" thick boards), some very weird and uneven subfloor from who knows when, and our desire to extend the wood flooring to include the kitchen area, which previously had stick-on tile with crappy vinyl on top. Enter Brothers Flooring, my last hope to keep the original wood: they arrived on-time for the estimate and talked through our options for addressing the complex subfloor situation, damaged portions of unusual boards, and our hope to extend the wood to include the open kitchen area. They were quickly able to special-order the uncommon wood and were clear in communicating the timeline, allowing us to plan around when work would begin. Chad did all of the work on our floors, and I see why he's the go-to guy for such complex jobs! He has been doing this for almost as long as I've been alive, and the experience shows in how he was able to make our uneven subfloor meld with the existing floor, braid in new boards to replace damaged portions, work with the addition, and carefully sand down the thin original wood to give it a beautiful finish. Chad was clear in communicating the plan, gave ample updates on progress, and answered the many questions I had throughout the process. Our house feels so much brighter, warmer, and we are so glad we were able to keep the original hardwood floors! I highly recommend Brothers Flooring for any project you have.”

He was incredibly meticulous and thorough, demonstrating a clear commitment to quality by taking great care throughout the entire installation process. This level of precision gave us complete confidence in the work being done. Beyond his technical skill, Chad was a pleasure to work with. He was professional, personable, and made the whole process stress-free. He was easy to work with and patiently addressed all our questions and concerns, ensuring we understood every step. “Brothers did a fabulous job! Marco was great to work with during the process. He answered all my questions, no matter how many, and kept me informed on the progress, start and finish times every day. My new floor is beautiful and being laced into the existing kitchen/dining and entry hardwoods makes them look like one floor. Every one I worked with from estimate to completion was wonderful. I would recommend Brothers to anyone and can’t wait to show off my new floor to family and friends.”

“We just had Brothers Flooring add hardwood flooring into our home. I highly recommend them. The whole experience from a competitive quote, quality materials, to outstanding workmanship. We are so happy with the outcome. I also don’t think I’ve seen anyone work harder than Anthony did throughout the entire job! Each day he arrived punctually, informed me about the jobs he would be completing that day, and time frames needed for drying etc. Thank you so much!”

“We had Brothers Flooring install hardwood on our main floor and then had them come back and install hardwood on our stairs and LVP on our second floor. We absolutely love our new floors! Marco went above and beyond! He was so professional, and we loved working with him. We couldn’t be happier, and would highly recommend them.”

Expert Luxury Vinyl Plank Installation in the Denver Metro Area

Luxury vinyl plank has become the most requested floor in Denver homes for a simple reason: it handles real life. Our dry climate, big seasonal humidity swings, and homes with basements and pets all favor a floor that stays stable and shrugs off water. A quality LVP floor does exactly that, while convincingly mimicking the look of hardwood or stone.

At Brothers Flooring, we install rigid-core SPC and WPC products with proper subfloor prep, because even waterproof planks telegraph every bump and dip underneath if the floor isn’t flat first. We assess your subfloor, address moisture and leveling, and choose the right installation method—floating click-lock for most rooms or glue-down for high-traffic and commercial-grade durability—so your floor performs as well as it looks years down the road.

Luxury Vinyl Plank: Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between waterproof and water-resistant vinyl?

Waterproof (SPC/WPC rigid core) won’t be damaged by standing water on the surface and is the right choice for kitchens, bathrooms, and basements. Water-resistant products tolerate spills if wiped up promptly but aren’t meant to sit in water.

Can LVP be installed over my existing floor?

Often, yes—LVP can float over many existing hard surfaces if they’re flat, clean, and structurally sound. We inspect the existing floor first; carpet must come out, and uneven tile or damaged subfloor needs prep before installation.

Is LVP good for basements?

Yes. Rigid-core LVP is one of the best basement flooring choices in Colorado because it’s waterproof and dimensionally stable against the temperature and humidity swings common below grade.

What is the wear layer and how thick should it be?

The wear layer is the clear protective top coat measured in mils. For homes we typically recommend 12–20 mil; for pets, kids, or commercial use, 20 mil or higher resists scratches and dents far better.

How long does LVP installation take?

Most residential rooms are completed in one to two days depending on square footage, subfloor prep, and transitions. We give you a clear timeline with your estimate.

Does LVP feel cold or hollow underfoot?

Quality rigid-core LVP with an attached or separate underlayment feels warm and solid. A hollow sound usually means the subfloor wasn’t properly prepped—which is exactly why prep matters.
