Lone Tree homeowners have unique demands when it comes to hardwood flooring, and not every contractor is equipped to meet them. Brothers Flooring is an experienced, NWFA-certified flooring company with 30 years in the industry serving the Denver metro area, including communities throughout Douglas County. We understand the Front Range environment and bring the technical knowledge to install hardwood that performs beautifully for the long term.
The neighborhoods around Lone Tree, from RidgeGate to Heritage Hills to Acres Green, feature some of the most well-appointed homes in the metro area. Those homes deserve more than a contractor who treats flooring like a commodity.
We are not a franchise. Every worker on your project is a Brothers Flooring employee, fully insured and trained to our standards. We do not leave a job until the work is complete and you are satisfied. No upfront deposit is required. Payment is due the morning of the final coat.
Installing hardwood in Colorado requires a deeper level of preparation than most homeowners realize. Lone Tree sits at roughly 5,400 feet, and that altitude, combined with the region’s dry conditions and dramatic seasonal temperature swings, creates real challenges for wood movement and adhesive performance.
Solid hardwood requires careful acclimatization before installation, particularly at this elevation. We stage materials in your home long enough for the wood to adjust to your interior conditions before a single board is nailed down. We also evaluate your subfloor thoroughly, because solid hardwood is unforgiving of moisture inconsistency or structural irregularities.
Engineered hardwood offers a meaningful stability advantage in Colorado’s low-humidity winters. Its cross-ply core resists the expansion and contraction that comes with the Front Range’s wide daily temperature swings. For homes with radiant heating systems, which are increasingly common in newer Lone Tree construction, engineered hardwood is often the smarter long-term choice.
Not all wood species respond equally to arid, high-altitude conditions. We guide every homeowner through species selection based on how the floor will actually perform in their home, not just how it looks in a showroom. Species that hold up particularly well in Colorado’s dry conditions include:
We discuss UV exposure as well. The intense sunlight at this altitude, especially through the large windows common in modern Lone Tree homes near the Chatfield Reservoir corridor, can fade unprotected wood quickly. Our finish selections account for that.
Existing hardwood floors can suffer from the same climate conditions that make installation challenging. Gaps between boards, cupping, cracking, and surface wear are all common in Colorado homes that were not installed or finished with local conditions in mind. Our hardwood flooring repair services address board replacement, structural correction, and gap filling with the same craftsmanship we bring to new installations.
If your floors have lost their finish or show years of wear, hardwood flooring refinishing is a cost-effective way to restore them. Our 97% dust-free sanding system keeps your home clean during the process, and our water-based finishes produce no toxic fumes, so there is no need to vacate. You stay in your home throughout the project.
Most installations in Lone Tree take two to five days depending on square footage and scope. Acclimatization adds time before work begins, typically several days. We walk you through every preparation step before we arrive so nothing is left to chance on project day.

Lone Tree is a relatively young city, incorporated in 1995, and its housing reflects that. The community is dominated by newer planned subdivision homes built in the late 1990s through the 2010s, most featuring slab foundations, open floor plans, and the high interior finish expectations that come with Douglas County’s price point. RidgeGate, Heritage Hills, Acres Green, and Trails at Crowfoot are among the community’s most established neighborhoods, and homes here regularly feature hardwood in entries, great rooms, and dining areas. Lone Tree’s proximity to the Lincoln Station light rail corridor has also driven a wave of urban-format townhome and condo development where hardwood flooring over concrete is standard.
Brothers Flooring serves homeowners throughout Lone Tree, including RidgeGate, Heritage Hills, Acres Green, Surrey Ridge, Retreat at Lone Tree, and the communities along Yosemite Street and Lincoln Avenue. We also serve the urban residential developments near the Sky Ridge Medical Center and Lincoln Station. Every project benefits from our specific knowledge of Lone Tree’s construction types and the moisture management requirements that slab foundation homes in this area demand.

“Wow- Brothers Flooring did incredible work on our 1920s house with a mid-century addition. We pulled up some terribly installed vinyl, planning to install laminate instead, and were thrilled to discover original hardwood underneath! However, several wood flooring specialty contractors declined to take on the job and encouraged us to start over with all new wood on top of the original planks, mostly due to damage to some of the unusual boards (2" wide by 1/2" thick tongue-in-groove red oak vs. modern 2.25" wide by 3/4" thick boards), some very weird and uneven subfloor from who knows when, and our desire to extend the wood flooring to include the kitchen area, which previously had stick-on tile with crappy vinyl on top. Enter Brothers Flooring, my last hope to keep the original wood: they arrived on-time for the estimate and talked through our options for addressing the complex subfloor situation, damaged portions of unusual boards, and our hope to extend the wood to include the open kitchen area. They were quickly able to special-order the uncommon wood and were clear in communicating the timeline, allowing us to plan around when work would begin. Chad did all of the work on our floors, and I see why he's the go-to guy for such complex jobs! He has been doing this for almost as long as I've been alive, and the experience shows in how he was able to make our uneven subfloor meld with the existing floor, braid in new boards to replace damaged portions, work with the addition, and carefully sand down the thin original wood to give it a beautiful finish. Chad was clear in communicating the plan, gave ample updates on progress, and answered the many questions I had throughout the process. Our house feels so much brighter, warmer, and we are so glad we were able to keep the original hardwood floors! I highly recommend Brothers Flooring for any project you have.”
“We recently had a major flooring project completed by Brothers Flooring and are thrilled with the outcome. The entire experience, from initial consultation to final inspection, was exceptional, and the results have exceeded our expectations! A huge part of this success is thanks to our technician, Chad! Chad's attention to detail was truly remarkable. He was incredibly meticulous and thorough, demonstrating a clear commitment to quality by taking great care throughout the entire installation process. This level of precision gave us complete confidence in the work being done. Beyond his technical skill, Chad was a pleasure to work with. He was professional, personable, and made the whole process stress-free. He was easy to work with and patiently addressed all our questions and concerns, ensuring we understood every step. The finished floors are absolutely beautiful and instantly elevated the look and feel of our home! We highly recommend Brothers Flooring and specifically commend Chad for his outstanding service.”
“Brothers did a fabulous job! Marco was great to work with during the process. He answered all my questions, no matter how many, and kept me informed on the progress, start and finish times every day. My new floor is beautiful and being laced into the existing kitchen/dining and entry hardwoods makes them look like one floor. Every one I worked with from estimate to completion was wonderful. I would recommend Brothers to anyone and can’t wait to show off my new floor to family and friends.”
“We just had Brothers Flooring add hardwood flooring into our home. I highly recommend them. The whole experience from a competitive quote, quality materials, to outstanding workmanship. We are so happy with the outcome. I also don’t think I’ve seen anyone work harder than Anthony did throughout the entire job! Each day he arrived punctually, informed me about the jobs he would be completing that day, and time frames needed for drying etc. Thank you so much!”
“We had Brothers Flooring install hardwood on our main floor and then had them come back and install hardwood on our stairs and LVP on our second floor. We absolutely love our new floors! Marco went above and beyond! He was so professional, and we loved working with him. We couldn’t be happier, and would highly recommend them.”
